Protect Yourself from the Tripledemic

It’s officially fall and winter will be here before you know it., This year, we have to be aware of the Tripledemic. The Tripledemic happens when three illnesses – the flu, COVID-19, and RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) – all come at the same time. This can make lots of people sick, so it’s extra important to take care of our health.

At Henry J Austin Health Center (HJAHC), we really care about your health. We want to help you and your family stay safe during the Tripledemic. Stop by one of our locations to receive your flu shot and the latest COVID-19 vaccine.

What Is the Tripledemic?

The Tripledemic is when three different sicknesses, like the flu, COVID-19, and RSV, all happen at once. But don’t worry, there are things we can do to stay healthy!

Get Your Shots

One big way to stay safe from the Tripledemic is to get vaccines. Vaccines are like superheroes for your body. They help your body fight off these illnesses and keep you from getting very sick.

Flu Shot

The flu shot helps your body fight off the flu. It can prevent you from getting sick or helps you get better faster if you do get sick. You can get your flu shot at HJAHC, and it’s really safe.

COVID-19 Vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine is like a shield against the virus. It stops you from getting very sick, and it also helps protect others. You can get this shot at our health center, and it is safe for kids 5 and older.

Easy Ways to Stay Healthy

Here are some other easy things you can do to stay healthy this fall and winter:

Wash Your Hands

Washing your hands with soap and water is super important. It helps get rid of germs and keeps you healthy.

Wear a Mask

Wearing a mask stops germs from spreading when you talk, cough, or sneeze.

Stay Home When You’re Sick

If you don’t feel well, it’s best to stay home. Resting helps you get better faster, and it keeps others from getting sick too.

Cover Your Mouth

When you cough or sneeze, it’s important to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow. This stops germs from going everywhere.

Keep Things Clean

Make sure to clean things you touch a lot, like doorknobs and light switches. This helps get rid of germs.
