Henry J. Austin Health Center and Trenton Mayor to Distribute Eyeglasses at Press Event

TRENTON, NJ (June 4, 2023) – Henry J. Austin Health Center (HJAHC) is proud to announce an upcoming event in partnership with Vision to Learn (VTL) to distribute eyeglasses to Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Middle School students in Trenton, NJ. The event, scheduled for Monday, June 12, 2023, marks a significant milestone for the VTL program in Trenton, and the students at Dr. MLK Jr. Middle School, allowing them to see the world more clearly and achieve their full potential in the classroom.

The VTL program plays a vital role in providing eye exams to students who failed their initial screenings and ensures that those in need receive brand-new glasses. This initiative is made possible through the generosity of donors and partners, including the Credit Union of New Jersey (CUNJ) and the George H. and Estelle M. Sands Foundation. Their support demonstrates a shared commitment to the educational success and well-being of the students in our community.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this eyeglasses distribution event in collaboration with Vision to Learn,” said Kemi Alli, MD, Chief Executive Officer of HJAHC. “Through this program, we are able to enhance the vision and educational opportunities for the students at Dr. MLK Jr. Middle School. The event will take place at Dr. MLK Jr. Middle School, located in Trenton, NJ, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Members of the press, community leaders, and partners are cordially invited to attend and show their support for the students. It will be a joyous occasion celebrating the gift of clear vision and its transformative impact on the lives of these young individuals.
