Cancer Control Month – Knowledge is Power

April is National Cancer Control Month. Early detection can save lives. Regular cancer screenings help find cancer early, when treatment works best.  

Get Screened 

It is important to get checked for: 

Colorectal Cancer 

  • What it is: Cancer of the colon or rectum, parts of the large intestine 
  • The screening checks for: early signs of cancer or polyps 
  • Who is at risk: People over 45, those with a family history, or certain health conditions 

Breast Cancer 

  • What it is: Cancer that forms in breast tissue 
  • The screening checks for: lumps or changes in the breast that could be cancer 
  • Who is at risk: Women over 40, people with family history, or certain genetic conditions 

Cervical Cancer 

  • What it is: Cancer of the cervix, the lower part of the uterus 
  • The screening checks for: Abnormal cells that could turn into cancer 
  • Who is at risk: Women over 35, especially those with a history of HPV infection
