Charles L. Davis, II, served as a pivotal figure at Henry J. Austin Health Center (HJAHC) for a decade, as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2014 to 2024. He also chaired the subcommittee for Human Resources during this time. Davis played key roles across various board subcommittees, including Finance, Bylaws, Fund Development, and Nominations, contributing significantly to HJAHC’s growth and success.
Under Davis’s leadership, HJAHC achieved remarkable milestones, including over $12 million dollars in infrastructure investments, doubling its annual budget revenue from $14 million to $33 million dollars, implementing a “livable wage” policy of $23 dollars per hour, expanding its workforce by 40%, its annual patient visits by 60%, and optimizing operational efficiency. His strategic vision and community-centered approach propelled the health center forward.
Beyond his tenure at HJAHC, Davis served in Governor Phil Murphy’s administration, overseeing various operations at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) with a focus on enhancing efficiency and customer service. Davis previous government experience included a relationship with county government, where he provided social services and administrative support at the Mercer County Correctional Center. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Davis held positions at Fairleigh Dickinson University, including Assistant Director of University Admissions and Director of the Enhanced Freshmen Experience program, an undergraduate liberal arts program for high-risk students.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Davis has dedicated his leadership skills to various boards, including serving as Chairman of the Trustee Board at Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ, from 2015 to 2019, and as Chief Personnel Officer from 2011 to 2015. His commitment to community service and advancing the well-being of others is evident throughout his career. Davis holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
