Charles Ellis is a seasoned corrections and public safety leader with more than four decades of experience in correctional administration, operations, and policy development. He holds a Master of Science in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science in Social Science and History from Thomas Edison State College. Charles is also a Certified Public Manager and a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. 

Charles currently serves as Warden of the Mercer County Corrections Center, where he directs the overall management, operations, and strategic planning of the institution. Prior to this role, he held executive leadership positions within the New Jersey Department of Corrections and the Juvenile Justice Commission, including Chief of Staff to the Commissioner and Director of Operations. His career has spanned from frontline service as a corrections officer to high-level administrative roles. 

Throughout his career, Charles has been active in professional and community organizations, including the County Wardens Association of New Jersey and King David Lodge No. 15. Charles remains dedicated to public service both inside and outside the correctional system.
