Research Intern
Rachel-Gifty is a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Public Health and Minoring in Health Administration. At Henry J. Austin Health Center she serves as a Data Analyst Research intern under the phenomenal Dr. Klege. While interning at Henry J. Austin Health Center, she hopes to expand her knowledge in research and data. Rachel-Gifty was nominated for the 2021 Undergraduate Research Writing Conference for researching efforts to reduce high African American Maternal Mortality and Morbidity rates in New Jersey. In 2021, Rachel-Gifty also traveled to Liberia, West Africa to volunteer at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, where she was able to meet some hospital administrators and discuss the infrastructure of the healthcare system in Liberia. Rachel-Gifty hopes to get her Masters in Health Administration after graduation this fall. Besides working on research projects, Rachel-Gifty loves traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
