Clinical Assistant Professor
Dr. McCarthy is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy (EMSOP), Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Dr. McCarthy is a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist who provides clinical pharmacy services at Henry J. Austin Health Center (HJAHC). Dr. McCarthy received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Rutgers University where she completed a specialty residency in neuropsychopharmacology. At HJAHC, Dr. McCarthy serves as a member of numerous committees and acts as the Secretary for the Institutional Review Board, the Chair of the 340B Compliance Committee and the Chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Dr. McCarthy’s teaching and research interests include health care delivery, integrated behavioral health, chronic disease management, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders. Dr. McCarthy is dedicated to the optimization of patient care through innovative care models and education of patients and practitioners alike regarding the relationship between mental and physical health.
