Mr. Charles L. Davis, II born and raised in Trenton, is deeply passionate about his community, and its residents. He has dedicated more than a decade of service to Henry J. Austin Health Center, Inc. (HJAHC) beginning as Chairman of the Board of Director from 2014 to 2024. In his role, he chaired the Human Resources Subcommittee, and was a member of the Finance, Bylaws, Fund Development, and Nominations subcommittees.
After his tenure on the Board of Directors, Mr. Davis transitioned into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) where he successfully guided the organization through a major senior leadership transition, ensuring stability and continuity across departments. His first year as CEO was marked by significant accomplishments.
- Eliminated $5.7 million in debt within 10 months through discipline and strategic financial management.
- Strengthened revenue cycle operations, resulting in substantial financial and operational improvements.
- Successfully completed his first Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) onsite visit earning an impressive score of 96%.
- Oversaw the opening of an additional pharmacy at Ewing Street, expanding access to care for community residents.
- Established a dedicated Grants Department to strengthen the organization’s funding infrastructure.
- Continued his commitment to community service through philanthropic efforts supporting local organizations.

In addition to his leadership at HJAHC, Mr. Davis served in Governor Phil Murphy’s administration at the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC), where he oversaw operations with a focus on improving efficiency and customer service. He also served in Mercer County government, providing social services and administrative support at the Mercer County Correctional Center.
With more than a decade of experience in higher education, Mr. Davis held multiple leadership positions at Fairleigh Dickinson University, including Assistant Director of University Admissions and Director of the Enhanced Freshmen Experience Program – an academic initiative designed to support high-risk undergraduate students.
Mr. Davis’s dedication to community service is further demonstrated through his leadership at Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey, where he served as Chairman of the Trustee Board (2015-2019) and Chief Personnel Officer (2011-2015). His commitment to empowering individuals and strengthening communities has remained constant throughout his career.
Mr. Davis earned both his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
