Conozca a M\u00f3nica, una inspiradora participante en el proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n en curso del Centro de Salud Henry J. Austin denominado Proyecto HOPE - Optimizaci\u00f3n de la hipertensi\u00f3n mediante la participaci\u00f3n de los pacientes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

El Proyecto HOPE es un programa que proporciona a los pacientes tensi\u00f3metros que env\u00edan las lecturas de la tensi\u00f3n arterial directamente a sus historiales m\u00e9dicos. Esto permite que la presi\u00f3n arterial de los participantes est\u00e9 estrechamente controlada por su equipo asistencial. El programa est\u00e1 dirigido por el equipo de Investigaci\u00f3n, y los participantes en el programa trabajan con un farmac\u00e9utico cl\u00ednico para encontrar formas de optimizar el control de su tensi\u00f3n arterial. Antes de unirse al proyecto, M\u00f3nica admite que negaba su hipertensi\u00f3n. Haciendo caso omiso de la medicaci\u00f3n y desestimando el peligro de su enfermedad, continu\u00f3 con una dieta deficiente, nombrando juguetonamente a su panadera favorita como 'Little Debbie'.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La realidad la golpe\u00f3 cuando M\u00f3nica se enfrent\u00f3 a las consecuencias de su salud, descubriendo que padec\u00eda insuficiencia renal en estadio 4. Aunque recibi\u00f3 un trasplante de ri\u00f1\u00f3n, M\u00f3nica no dio prioridad a su propia recuperaci\u00f3n. No fue hasta que tuvo complicaciones, como hipertensi\u00f3n, dolores de cabeza e hinchaz\u00f3n, que la llevaron a estar hospitalizada un mes, cuando M\u00f3nica se dio cuenta de la importancia del autocuidado.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

El Proyecto HOPE se convirti\u00f3 en su gu\u00eda, haciendo hincapi\u00e9 en la importancia de la medicaci\u00f3n constante y los controles diarios de la tensi\u00f3n arterial.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

El Proyecto HOPE desempe\u00f1\u00f3 un papel importante en la capacitaci\u00f3n de M\u00f3nica para tomar las riendas de su salud. Tras el fracaso de su trasplante, el equipo del HJAHC la ayud\u00f3 a redefinir sus prioridades sanitarias. M\u00f3nica recibe llamadas de apoyo de Aleha Cruz, trabajadora sanitaria de la comunidad farmac\u00e9utica, tres veces al mes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahora, de nuevo en la lista de donantes para un segundo trasplante de ri\u00f1\u00f3n, M\u00f3nica exclama: \"Este a\u00f1o, me ocupo de M\u00cd\". Su nueva perspectiva se extiende a todos los aspectos de su vida, desde la elecci\u00f3n de alimentos hasta las situaciones sociales, destacando el impacto transformador de conocer su cuerpo mediante el control de la tensi\u00f3n arterial.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

M\u00f3nica cuenta con el apoyo de su familia. Sus hijos y su prometido desempe\u00f1an un papel crucial a la hora de asegurarse de que sigue su rutina de medicaci\u00f3n y tensi\u00f3n arterial.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reflexionando sobre su viaje por la salud, M\u00f3nica comparte un profundo mensaje: \"Nunca supe lo importante que era la vida hasta que me hicieron un trasplante de ri\u00f1\u00f3n. Si eres como yo, te niegas a aceptarlo, escucha a tu cuerpo. Ve al m\u00e9dico, consulta a tus seres queridos y asume tu responsabilidad. No culpes a los dem\u00e1s de tu salud\".<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Su consejo es simple pero poderoso: \"Tienes que querer vivir, no s\u00f3lo existir\".
