Antecedentes: Los antipsic\u00f3ticos inyectables de acci\u00f3n prolongada (AILP) se desarrollaron para mejorar la adherencia a la medicaci\u00f3n, y algunos estudios indican que el uso de AILP en lugar de su hom\u00f3logo oral reduce el riesgo de reca\u00edda y hospitalizaci\u00f3n. El uso de formulaciones orales de antipsic\u00f3ticos es com\u00fan en la poblaci\u00f3n pedi\u00e1trica, pero se sabe poco sobre el uso no indicado de los AILS en esta poblaci\u00f3n. M\u00e9todos: Esta revisi\u00f3n retrospectiva de gr\u00e1ficos aprobada por el IRB incluir\u00e1 pacientes pedi\u00e1tricos menores de 18 a\u00f1os que ingresaron en la sala de psiquiatr\u00eda en un gran hospital acad\u00e9mico entre el 1 de enero de 2016 y el 1 de diciembre de 2022, y requirieron terapia antipsic\u00f3tica. El grupo experimental analizar\u00e1 a los pacientes a los que se les inici\u00f3 una terapia con LAIA durante su estancia en el hospital, y el grupo de control analizar\u00e1 a los pacientes a los que se les inici\u00f3 una nueva medicaci\u00f3n antipsic\u00f3tica oral durante su ingreso. Se excluir\u00e1n los pacientes dados de alta con polifarmacia de 2 o m\u00e1s antipsic\u00f3ticos diferentes y los mayores de 18 a\u00f1os. Se recoger\u00e1 informaci\u00f3n demogr\u00e1fica (edad, sexo, g\u00e9nero, raza y peso). Otros datos pertinentes que se recoger\u00e1n incluyen el diagn\u00f3stico primario, la medicaci\u00f3n concurrente, las comorbilidades psiqui\u00e1tricas, el n\u00famero de ensayos antipsic\u00f3ticos previos, el n\u00famero de hospitalizaciones previas, la elecci\u00f3n del antipsic\u00f3tico utilizado, el n\u00famero de reingresos hospitalarios (a los 3, 6 y 12 meses), la duraci\u00f3n de la estancia hospitalaria y los equivalentes de clorpromazina. Los an\u00e1lisis de datos incluir\u00e1n estad\u00edsticas descriptivas, un emparejamiento de puntuaci\u00f3n de propensi\u00f3n para comparar los dos grupos de pacientes y una prueba t de Student no emparejada.
