Reports to:     Chief Medical Officer                                  Classification:  Exempt      Department:   Clinical                                                         Approved: Dr. Rachael EvansDate Reviewed:  7/6/2018              MAJOR FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, provides chiropractic services defined within the scope of practice of a New Jersey Chiropractor. Perform functions in accordance with legal and judicial mandates; performs technical applications to meet state and federal standards and regulations; does related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Is a member of the clinical team and works with the clinical team which may include a nurse, medical assistant and receptionist to manage the patient panel.


  • Actively participates in mandatory daily team huddles, this includes arriving to huddles on time.


  • Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, in order to correct the musculoskeletal system.


  • Evaluate the functioning of the neuromuscularskeletal system and the spine using systems of chiropractic diagnosis.


  • Diagnose health problems by reviewing patients' health and medical histories; questioning, observing and examining patients; and interpreting x-rays.


  • Panel of patients seeing on average 20-22 patients in an eight (8) hour day.


  • Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment.


  • Analyze x-rays in order to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems.


  • Counsel patients about nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other matters.


  • Consult with and refer patients to appropriate health practitioners when necessary.Suggest and apply the use of supports such as straps, tapes, bandages, and braces if necessary.


  • When appropriate, determines the need for physician, sub-specialty, and/or emergency room consultation/evaluation.


  • Maintains complete and adequate medical charts, follow HJAHC procedures for documentation to ensure appropriate billing.


  • Greets all patients/clients/customers via telephone or directly in a personal and professional manner; promotes positive patient and community relations; acts as member of the health team.

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Chief Medical Officer.  EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited college with a chiropractic studies degree; is certified as a Chiropractor by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners; is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Chiropractor.  PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB 

  • Must hold current and valid certification from an accredited certifying body as noted above


  • Must hold current and valid NJ chiropractic license


  • Capable of working with computers and software applications suitable for health care environment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others.


  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to

perform the duties of this position.  American Sign language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.  PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
