MAJOR FUNCTION:
Education Programs Director will direct and cultivate the curriculum for the Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. They will work with Nursing and Clinical teams as well as other departments within and outside the organization to come up with the most appropriate curriculum to meet the needs of the students, interns, staff and volunteers. The Education Programs Director will provide advice to preceptors, administrators and support staff. They provide oversight to training of the staff and Nurse Practitioner Program educational materials and techniques. Education Programs Director will advise educators on how to comply with local, state and national standards.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for collaborating with external academic-clinical teams to assess the community based entity’s capacity for the NPR program
  • Responsible for collaborating with HJAHC’s administrative and clinical teams to assess the organizations needs for education and training of staff, volunteers and students.
  • Manages all day-to-day operations and ensures all patients and operational issues are resolved timely in the NPR program
  • Ensures infrastructure development of the NPR program prior to start of program
  • Ensures infrastructure development of the organizations orientation, education and training program as part of the organization’s Healthy Workforce Plan
  • Ensures development of curriculum including population based topics, integrated health care and Trauma Informed Care
  • Collaborates with all HJAHC staff in program, infrastructure and curriculum development
  • Participates in hiring, evaluation and termination of NPR program staff, NP residents and preceptors.
  • Participates in all NPR program evaluation processes and program committees
  • Works with Program Directors to prepare reports for HJAHC and prepare for accreditation with Postgraduate NP training program.
  • Develops additional residency programs and medical education programs as determined by the strategic plan of HJAHC
  • Establishes and implements formal policies, along with Program Directors, staff education programs and for residency programs in compliance with Institutional and Program Requirements of the Postgraduate NP training program
  • Coordinates programs for the constant readiness for Postgraduate NP training program RRC/JCAHO/DHSS/CMS as measured by self-assessment against standards
  • Collects information for developing database analysis tools to meet Postgraduate NP training program requirements. Compiles updates and coordinates submission of data to agencies as required
  • Develops annual budgets within HJA guidelines and time-frame. Monitors budget for utilization of resources
  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates services of HJA Residency programs and other medical education programs in a coordinated manner with Program Directors

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in health-care or similar discipline. Master's degree preferred
  • Health-care related experience plus knowledge and experience with current rules and regulations of accrediting and regulatory agencies
