Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, functions as a consultant and specialist in a medical specialty; performs clinical responsibilities in accordance with normal concepts and unifies services. Perform medical functions in accordance with legal and judicial mandates; performs technical applications to meet state and federal standards and regulations; does related work as required.
·         Manages a panel of patients and works to ensure Same Day Access and continuity for the panel of established patients managed.
·         Is a member of the clinical team and works with the clinical team which may include a nurse, medical assistant and receptionist to manage the patient panel.
·         Actively participates in mandatory daily team huddles, this includes arriving to huddles on time.
·         Examines patients utilizing a variety of medical equipment, instruments, and test following standard medical procedures.
·         Study, evaluate, diagnose, and treat the diseases of the human body related to medical training.
·         Develops patient treatment plan and/or explain treatment plan as formulated.
·         Treats patients utilizing a variety of medical equipment and instrument standard medical procedures.
·         Maintains an awareness of interactions of medications and advises patient of need for medication and results of non-use of medication.
·         Writes and presents at staff conferences data on patients for diagnosis, treatment, and disposition.
·         Maintains complete and adequate medical charts, follow HJAHC procedures for documentation to ensure appropriate billing.
·         Participates in quality and clinical peer reviews and serves on quality and clinical committees.
·         Monitor and supports the activities of any students assigned to the respective department.
·         Provides professional direction to other medical and nursing personnel.
·         Greets and interacts with all patients/clients/customers via telephone or directly in a personal and professional manner; promotes positive patient and community relations; acts as member of the health team.
·         Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Chief Medical Officer.
·         Completion of an accredited medical residency training program; licensure to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey; demonstrated competence in hospital practice; Credential Committee or equivalent recommendation; and approval by the Central Office Board of Professional Standards.
·         Must hold current and valid certification from an accredited certifying body as noted above
·         Must hold current and valid NJ licensure, CDS and DEA licensure
·         Thorough knowledge of accepted principles of medicine and medical practices and the role of medical services in a Patient Centered Medical Home - healthcare program.
·         Ability to render effective medical diagnosis and treatment in a Patient Centered Medical Home - healthcare setting and to supervise the work of nurse practitioners or physician assistants.
·         Capable of working with computers and software applications suitable for health care environment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
·         Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
·         High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
·         The Physician is responsible to the Chief Medical Officer for the administration of the organization and for proper interpretation and fulfillment of all his/her functions, responsibilities, authority and relationships.
·         The Physician maintains personal contacts with the Chief Medical Officer, other staff, and the public to the greatest degree possible.
