Pediatric Care

Children’s access to health care is important to children themselves, to their families, as well as to society at large. Health care can influence children’s physical and emotional health, growth, and development and their capacity to reach their full potential as adults. Henry J. Austin Health Center provides newborn care through adolescent years. All of our providers are board certified and/or eligible.

Children over the age of 13 are also screened for mental and behavioral health issues. Our pediatricians and nurse practitioners work in collaborative teams that include social workers, clinical pharmacists, nurses, certified medical assistants, community health workers, nutritionists, unit receptionists, and others to support the many needs of our patients.

Pediatric services include:

  • Routine check-ups
  • Sick visits
  • Immunizations
  • School and camp physicals
  • Lead poisoning screening and treatment
  • Asthmatic care
  • Referrals to nutrition, diet and activity education as well as dental services
  • Reach Out Read Program
  • Same day or next day visits are available
