HJA Opens It's 4th Site in Hamilton

PediatricsWalter Isaacs, Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Goodwin, Hamilton Councilman, and 14th district Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein, presided over the ribbon cutting ceremony on November 6th, 2008 at its newest location, Center City Office Park, 1544 Kuser Road, Building C-7, Hamilton.  Current services are Ob/Gyn and General Medicine.

Hamilton Township, which borders Trenton on the East, is Trenton’s largest neighbor with 89,109 residents.  It was noted that there was a significant number of individuals and/or families who did not have health insurance.  HJA is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and is able to provide a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured and eligible.  HJA also accepts Medicaid and Medicare.  HJA accepts most commercial insurances.  In addition, financial counselors are available to facilitate enrollment in state or federal health programs.

The Times editorial of November 8, 2008, stated   “Hit:  The opening of a fourth site under the Henry J. Austin Health Center umbrella.  The 39-year old organization’s mission has been to provide health care to the underinsured, low income people in the struggling inner city of Trenton.  The most recent center, however, is located in Hamilton, where there is a growing number of uninsured patients due to the ongoing economic downturn.”
